BACK ON THE ASTRO !
From Monday 7 September our Walking Football and Walking Hockey sessions return to the AstroTurf at Bromsgrove Cricket Hockey & Tennis Club.
Walking Hockey on Mondays (7.00-8.pm) and Thursdays (10.30-11.30am)
Walking Football on Wednesdays (11.00am to 12.30pm).
Walking Hockey and Walking Football are back
Delighted to inform you that our Walking Hockey and Walking Football programs are back, albeit in a reduced form.
Both are 7-8pm, at Sanders Park, Bromsgrove (Echells Close end), football on Wednesdays and hockey on Thursdays. Sessions cost £3 each.

Walking Hockey arrives in Leamington
Another Walking Hockey Group have opened recently, Leamington.
They are a great group of people so if you’re over that way please look them up.
Bromsgrove’s new Walking Sports Centre grows and grows
The evolution of Bromsgrove’s once a week evening Walking Hockey session into a full grown Walking Sports Centre continues apace.
After successful pilot programmes of daytime Walking Football and Walking Hockey both were added to the regular rota. Daytime Walking Football is on Wednesdays (11.00am) and daytime Walking Hockey is on Thursdays (10.30am).
Now we have Walking Netball opening their pilot on Wednesday 29th January, 10am at the Ryland Centre Bromsgrove . This is to be followed by a pilot Walking Basketball programme beginning on Thursday 27 February, Noon at the Ryland Centre Bromsgrove.
And if that’s not enough there’s Women’s Walking Football starting in the Spring alongside Walking Cricket.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and for your reply.
In answer to your question … yes we are planning regular competition/programs in 2020.
Thank you again for your assistance in helping Central Hockey Club “launch” Walking Hockey in Canberra Australia.
Our Walking Hockey event on Friday 13th of December was as essentially a trial run incorporated in our Christmas social event. Unfortunately we were only able to offer a few weeks notice and we had very limited dates available to us and sadly that Friday is very popular for work Christmas parties.
So we were in fact delighted we had 4 teams playing 5 a side plus subs for each teams.
We played a round robin competition between the “Shanstars”, ”Rob’s Rabbits”, ”Williams Wagtails” and ”The Owls”. “Wagtails” (an Aussie bird) won by 1 point. Players ranged from 67 to 7 years old and included some of our first grade men’s and women’s players and also some first timers. One other great thing was the level of family participation.
You can tell from the smiles that everyone had a great time and really enjoyed themselves … wish we had got a video! All the feedback was really positive … no injuries though we all thought shin pads would be a wise addition for the coming season. Everyone had close to an hour’s exercise and plenty of laughs.
Again … thanks so much for your encouragement and assistance Alan. We look forward to hearing more about what is happening in Walking Hockey World and we will keep you informed from our end.
